Dr. James “Jim” Poe attended West Virginia University, his dream school since junior high, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in biology in 1990. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at West Virginia University in 1995. Dr. Poe has wanted to be a dentist since the eighth grade and attributes his love for the profession to his childhood dentist, Dr. BJ Martin.
Dr. Poe is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society and the Onslow County Dental Society. He continues to expand his knowledge base by taking courses that educate him on the latest advancements and products in the dental field. Dr. Poe is also a Six Month Smiles certified provider as well as a proud ClearCorrect provider.
When he isn’t practicing dentistry, Dr. Poe enjoys reading and offshore and inshore fishing. He also likes to play disc golf and spend time with his family. Dr. Poe even has a musical side to himself and dabbles in the ukulele from time to time.
