Dr. Oreoluwa “Ore” Adegun graduated with honors from the University of Houston in 2007 with a BS in Nutrition and a minor in Health. She wanted to truly learn how to take care of the body physically through diet and exercise. She was a part of the University of Houston’s Ambassadors and amassed over 300 volunteer hours during her undergraduate career volunteering at health fairs, elementary and high schools as a tutor, as well as volunteered as a camp counselor for students with Sickle Cell Anemia. Dr. Adegun continued her education at Baylor College of Dentistry and graduated in 2012 with her DDS. She believes that a smile is the best accessory one possesses and says that the ability to brighten someone’s day and make them feel better makes dentistry very rewarding for her.
Dr. Adegun is an avid learner and enjoys learning via different mediums. She enjoys listening to various dental podcasts every morning on her way to work and spends a good portion of her free time reading blog posts on Dental Town. She also takes multiple courses a year at the University of Texas Houston Dental School and recently completed a mini residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. One of her goals is to receive a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and is currently a member of the Houston Minority Dental Society.
In her free time, Dr. Adegun enjoys singing and sings for the Praise Team at her church. She also enjoys reading, traveling, and trying new cuisine as well as spending quality time with her daughter, Ewa, and husband, Joe. Since volunteering is such a passion of hers, she continues to volunteer at a Pregnancy and Wellness Clinic, in the children’s ministry at her church, at the Nigerian American Multicultural Center, and the Career Discovery Program that introduces high school students to various professions. She lives by the words “work smarter, not harder” and “it’s all about attitude!”
